1. Information We Collect

Account information: your email address and name, and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile details Google shares with us (name, email address, profile picture).

Usage information: for each API or tool call, the endpoint, time, credits used, response status, IP address and browser/user agent, and which API key or connected app made the call.

Query inputs and results: by default we save what you asked for (keywords, locations, business names, domains, prompts and similar parameters) and the results we returned, so you can view your history in the dashboard and through the history tools. You can turn this off in dashboard settings.

Website analytics: pages visited and actions taken on our website (see Cookies and Tracking).

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the Service, including your query history; (b) process billing and credit transactions; (c) send account and service emails; (d) monitor for abuse, enforce rate limits and diagnose errors; (e) understand and improve how the Service is used.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the Service: payment processing, hosting and infrastructure, email delivery, website analytics and error monitoring. They may use it only to provide their services to us.

To answer your queries, we send your query inputs (for example keywords, locations, business names, domains or prompts) to third-party search data and AI providers. We do not send them your name, email address or account details.

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights.

4. API Data

The data our API returns (business profiles, reviews, rankings and similar) comes from publicly available information and third-party data providers. Saved query inputs and results are kept as described in Data Retention.

5. Connected AI Apps

You can connect AI assistants such as ChatGPT or Claude to your account by signing in to Local SEO Data from that app and approving access. A connected app can run our tools on your behalf and uses your account's credits; calls it makes are recorded in your usage like any other.

You can see and disconnect connected apps at any time in dashboard settings. Disconnecting stops the app's access immediately. What you type in the AI app itself is handled under that app's own privacy policy, not this one.

6. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in. We use analytics tools (Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics and PostHog) to understand how our website and dashboard are used; when you are signed in, this activity may be linked to your account. In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, analytics are off until you accept them in our cookie banner, and if you decline, wherever you are, we stop our product analytics. We use an error-monitoring service that is configured not to collect personal information. We do not use advertising cookies.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including: encrypted data in transit (TLS), hashed API keys (SHA-256), short-lived signed access tokens for connected apps, rate limiting, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

Account information is kept while your account is active. Saved query inputs and results are kept so you can refer back to them, until you delete your account; you can turn on automatic deletion after 90 days, or stop saving them, in dashboard settings. The rest of each usage record (endpoint, time, credits used, status, IP address and user agent) and your credit transaction history are kept for the lifetime of your account for billing, usage history and security.

You can delete your account at any time in dashboard settings. This cancels any active subscription and deletes your account, API keys, usage records, query history and credit history.

9. Emails

We send emails about your account (verification, billing, credit alerts) and, unless you opt out, usage summaries, onboarding tips and product updates. You can change which emails you receive in dashboard settings or with the unsubscribe link in any non-essential email.

10. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate data, request deletion of your data, object to processing, and data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@localseodata.com.

11. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
