Connect Your AI App

ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to Local SEO Data over MCP and signs you in with your Local SEO Data account. There's no API key to copy.

If Local SEO Data shows up in ChatGPT's app directory

Search for Local SEO Data, click it, then Connect. ChatGPT opens a sign-in window: log in or create a free account, enter the 6-digit code we email you if it asks, and click Allow.

Add it yourself as a custom MCP server

  1. On ChatGPT on the web, open chatgpt.com/plugins, click the plus button and choose Add custom MCP server.
  2. Name it Local SEO Data and enter the URL https://mcp.localseodata.com/mcp.
  3. Choose OAuth for authentication, confirm the warning, and create it.
  4. Install it, then sign in with your Local SEO Data account when ChatGPT asks.

Custom MCP servers are a web feature on paid ChatGPT plans, and a workspace admin may need to allow them first.

Check it works

Ask: "What's my Local SEO Data balance?" That calls the free get_balance tool, so it costs nothing and shows the connection is live. Then try a real question, like "Who are the top 3 on Google Maps for plumbers in Denver?" Most answers cost 2 to 10 credits, and new accounts start with 100.

Using an API key instead

If your workspace doesn't allow OAuth apps, use https://mcp.localseodata.com/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY as the URL and choose No authentication. You'll find your API key in the API Keys dashboard. It starts with sk_live_.
