Using with Claude / ChatGPT
You can use Local SEO Data through AI assistants instead of writing code. Connect once, then ask questions in plain English.
Using with Claude (Recommended)
Claude can access Local SEO Data directly through our MCP server. Once connected, you just talk in plain English:
- "Audit Mike's Plumbing in Denver, CO"
- "Who ranks #1 for 'dentist' in Austin?"
- "Check my business reviews for Joe's Pizza in Brooklyn"
- "How does my competitor ABC Plumbing compare to me?"
- "Run a geogrid for my bakery in Portland for 'cupcakes' and tell me where I'm weak"
- "Find keywords I should be targeting for my law firm in Houston"
Claude calls the right endpoints, gets the data, and explains the results with specific recommendations.
Setting Up MCP
Works with Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, VS Code, Cline, and Windsurf. One-time setup:
- Sign up at localseodata.com/signup and create an API key
- Follow the setup guide for your platform: MCP Setup
The fastest option is Claude Code (one terminal command). For Claude Desktop, you edit a JSON config file. Full instructions with copy-paste snippets for all 6 platforms are in the MCP Setup guide.
Using with ChatGPT
ChatGPT doesn't have direct MCP support, but you can still use it:
- Make API calls (or use the dashboard) to get your data
- Paste the JSON response into ChatGPT
- Ask ChatGPT to analyze and explain the results
Example: "Here's my local audit data [paste JSON]. What are the most important things I should fix first?"
Tips for Getting the Best Results from AI
- Be specific about the business name and location
- Ask for "actionable recommendations" to get practical next steps
- Ask Claude to "compare this to my competitors" for context
- Request results "in plain English" if the response is too technical
- For client work, ask Claude to "write this as a client-ready summary"
Example Workflows
- Monthly Client Report: "Run a local audit for [client], compare to last month, and write a summary I can send them"
- New Client Onboarding: "Audit [prospect's business] and create a pitch showing what they could improve"
- Keyword Research: "Find the best keywords for a [business type] in [city] -- focus on low competition ones"
- Reputation Check: "Check reviews across Google and Trustpilot for [business] and summarize the main themes"
